16 OCTOBER 2010, PUTRAJAYA - This Sunday, 17th of October, at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Legenda Education Group comprising Linton University College (Kolej Universiti Linton), Legenda College (Kolej Legenda), Jati Institute (Institut Jati) and Institute of Medical Sciences Mantin (IMM) will have their largest graduation ceremony for 715 of their students for academic year 2010.
The graduation ceremony will be graced and officiated by Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Haji Hasan Bin Malek.
There have been more than 40,000 students from the country and the region who have graduated from these Colleges since their helm as a center of excellence 25 years ago. With 15 students graduating with First Class Honours and another 61 with Second Upper Class Honours respectively, the Group is proud of the fact that 50% of its students are graduating with at least a Second Upper Class Honours particularly in the challenging discipline of Engineering. Such astounding results are a testament of Legenda Education Group’s sound delivery of teaching and learning strategies, academic quality, academic infrastructure and its commitment to exceed the stringent quality assurance standards of the Group’s UK university partners.
A current graduate who hails from Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, Miriam Michael Lutale aced her Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Communications) programme from the University of East London by scoring a First Class Honours. She described her tenure at Legenda as a “home away from home”. She added, ‘The complete residential facilities within university township offers excellent facilities and amenities that, in many aspects, are unrivalled.’ Miriam is currently working as a Customer Support Representative/ Engineer with a leading telecommunication company in Tanzania, simbaNET (T) Ltd.
A graduand of Linton University College who hails from Sibu, Sarawak, Hii Yii Song will be receiving his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with First Class Honours. A former student of SMK Sacred Heart, Sibu, he will also receive the Most Outstanding Student Award in Linton University College under the degree category. He said ‘the secret of my success is dedicated to my lecturers, they were my mentors and source of inspirations’.
Another graduand from Linton University College, Lavania A/P K Mohan also scored a First Class Honours for her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting & Finance programme. A former student of SMK Jalan Bukit Kajang, Kuala Lumpur, Lavania landed herself a job as Senior Audit Associate with a Chartered Accountant Firm in Kuala Lumpur and sets her ambition to be a Financial Controller. When asked about her experience at Linton, she commented, ‘Linton is highly recommended for its excellent study and multicultural environment. I have broadened my international outlook and knowledge which I believe will help in my strife for global employment opportunities.’
Noor Hidayah Binti Sabtu, who is currently working as an Assistant Manager in the Research & Development department of Tamco Switchgear Malaysia, will be receiving her Bachelor of Civil Engineering with First Class Honours. A former student of SMK Teknik Kuala Klawang, Negeri Sembilan, she aspires to be a successful telecommunication engineer.

Driven by the rapid growth of its student population, Legenda Education Group has embarked on the 2nd phase of its campus development with the acquisition of an additional 40-acre land. This RM100 million project will fuel the Group’s expansion plan by increasing capacity for hostel accommodation and teaching and learning facilities, and also deliver a much enhanced campus environment for its students.
